MWFS Newsletter Feedback Prize Draw 

 

1) ELIGIBILITY

This contest is open to all Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Ontario and Saskatchewan residents aged 18 or over.

The following individuals are excluded from the contest:

  • Employees of the Organizer and persons residing with them. 
  • Employees of Macnaughton & Ward Financial Services Ltd. (hereinafter “MWFS” or “Organizer”), including partner financial advisors, and its affiliates and persons residing with them.
  • Independent Financial advisors contracted with Global Pacific Financial Services Ltd. and persons residing with them.

Also ineligible are entrants who use an alias, the name of a person under 18 years of age or any other substitutions of a name.

 

2) HOW TO ENTER

This contest is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.

There are three (3) ways to enter:

  • a) By completing the MWFS Newsletter Feedback webform available on the mwfs.ca website.  The entrant must have entered feedback form between January 10, 2025 and January 31, 2025.

    Once the form is submitted, you will be automatically entered in the contest.

    The entrant is the person who completed the form (online) and if declared the winner, the Prize will be awarded to this person.

  • b) By submitting an email to feedback@mwfs.ca answering:

  • c) By submitting an email to feedback@mwfs.ca. You must also indicate your full name, date of birth, email address and telephone number. Limit of one entry per individual. This text must be received at:

    The mail must be received no later than 5:00 pm (PST) on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, and provides one (1) contest entry. 

 

3) ENTRY RESTRICTIONS

Limit of one (1) contest entry per person for the entire contest period. Any attempts to exceed the number of permitted entries, specifically by using multiple or different email addresses, identities, registrations or logins nullifies all entries submitted by the entrant and will result in immediate disqualification. Any and all use of automated devices, robots, scripts, macros or automated contest entry services will result in the immediate disqualification of all entries submitted by the entrant.

 

4) CONTEST PERIOD

The contest starts at 12:00 pm (PST) on Friday, January 10, 2025, and ends at 5:00 pm (PST) on Friday, January 31, 2025. 

 

5) PRIZE

Each week during the contest period, one (1) winner will be drawn and will receive a $50 VISA gift card for a total of three (3) winners.

Throughout the contest period, the Organizer will distribute three (3) $50 VISA gift cards, for a total prize value of $150.

 

6) ACCEPTANCE OF CONTEST RULES 

By entering the contest, the entrant agrees to comply with the contest rules and all decisions of the Organizer. 

The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or contest entry that does not comply with the contest rules.

 

7) ODDS OF WINNING

The odds of becoming a winner and winning one of the three (3) $50 VISA gift cards will be dependent upon the number of eligible entries received every week during the contest period, as well as the moment at which the entrant registers for the contest. Entrants are eligible for all draws following the date of their completed online quote for the duration of the contest, unless they are declared a winner in one of those draws. The entrant’s participation in subsequent draws will then be void.

For example, a person who completes an online webform for the feedback survey during the first week of the contest will be eligible for all weekly draws of the contest that take place after the date of their online webform.

Once the entrant has been declared a winner, their participation in subsequent draws will be void.

 

8) PRIZE DRAWS

The three (3) winners of the “Newsletter Feedback $50 Visa Prize Draw” contest will be determined by an electronic draw by a designated official at the head office of MWFS at 15225 104 Avenue, Suite 103, Surrey, BC  V3R 6Y8.

During the contest period, weekly draws will take place at 11:00 am (PST) on the first Wednesday following the last day of the previous week from among all entrants who have qualified in the weeks preceding the draw. All prize draw dates are detailed in Appendix I of these contest rules.

Maximum of one (1) prize per entrant. In the event that the same entrant is drawn a second time, the Organizer will draw again.

 

9) CLAIMING THE PRIZE

To be declared the winner, subject to eligibility, the entrant chosen by random draw must:

  • a) Be reached by the Organizer by email or phone within five (5) business days of the draw
  • b) **waived for this contest as of January 2025** Sign and return the Declaration and Release Form (hereinafter “Declaration Form”) provided by the Organizer. The form can be returned by mail to the address listed below or by email to service@mwfs.ca within fifteen (15) days of receipt.

Failure to comply with any of the abovementioned conditions will result in the disqualification of the chosen entrant and there shall be another prize draw pursuant to the contest rules until a winner is drawn.

The Prize will be delivered by mail. It must be accepted as is, and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or exchanged, except at the sole discretion of the contest Organizer who reserves the right to substitute the Prize for a prize of equal value if, for any reason, the Prize cannot be awarded as is. 

Upon receipt of the Prize, the winner Macnaughton & Ward Financial Services Ltd., and its affiliates, representatives and employees from any liability and waives any damages which may result from the acceptance and use of the Prize. 

The winner acknowledges that upon receipt of the Prize, the fulfillment of prize-related obligations becomes the full and exclusive responsibility of the various goods and service providers.

 

10) REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES 

The Organizer makes no declarations or warranties, express or implied, as to the quality or suitability of the Prize awarded. The winner acknowledges and agrees that they may not attempt to receive reimbursement, make a claim or commence any type of legal action against the Organizer in the event the Prize is not suitable for the purposes described or if they are dissatisfied with the Prize as awarded.

 

11) DECISIONS AND DISPUTES

The “Newsletter Feedback $50 Visa Prize Draw” contest is organized and managed by the Organizer. 

The Organizer reserves the right to change the contest terms and conditions or to cancel the contest without prior notice.

All decisions by the contest administrators are final and binding. However, any dispute regarding the conduct or organization of a promotional contest can be submitted to the Competition Bureau. Any dispute regarding the awarding of a Prize may be submitted to the Competition Bureau, only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

 

12) ACCEPTANCE AND SUBSTITUTION

The Prize must be accepted as is, and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or exchanged for cash, except at the sole discretion of the Organizer who reserves the right to substitute the Prize for a prize of equal value if, for any reason, the Prize cannot be awarded as is.

The contest Organizer waives any and all liability where its inability to act is caused by a force beyond its control or by a labour dispute in its establishments or in the establishments of the organizations or business whose services are used for holding this contest.

 

13) LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Entrants release the Organizer, its employees, agents, representatives and subsidiaries from any and all liability for damages resulting from their participation in the contest.

 

14) CHANGES TO THE CONTEST

The Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this contest, in whole or in part, in the case of an event or a deliberate attempt to undermine the administration, security, impartiality or operation of this contest, as provided in these contest rules, subject to approval by the Competition Bureau, if necessary. In all circumstances, the contest Organizer, its subsidiaries, advertising and marketing agencies, goods and service providers related to this contest, as well as its representatives, agents and employees shall not be required to award more prizes or other prizes than those stated in these contest rules.

 

15) USE OF THE WINNER’S NAME

The winners authorize the Organizer to use their name, photograph, place of residence, voice or image for publicity purposes, without any compensation beyond the prize awarded, and they agree to have this information posted on websites and Facebook pages of MWFS, its affiliated agencies and its representatives. 

 

16) ENTRY MATERIALS AND COMMUNICATIONS

The Organizer remains at all times the exclusive owner of all contest entry materials and communications.

 

17) APPLICABLE LEGISLATION

The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal legislation as well as to these contest rules, which are available from the Organizer at Newsletter Feedback | MWFS.

 

18) SEVERABILITY

Where a paragraph of these contest rules is declared or judged illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a competent jurisdiction, the paragraph in question will be considered void, but all other unaffected paragraphs will be applicable to the extent permitted by law.

 

19) PERSONAL INFORMATION

  • a) For the purposes of this contest, the Organizer will gather and securely store your personal information.  
  • b) The Organizer will use this personal information to identify entrants and to contact the contest winner. The information gathered will also be used for solicitation purposes and to calculate the number of entries. 
  • c) If the Organizer uses the services of specialized companies to deliver the Prize, they are only authorized to use the personal information collected for the purposes of delivering the Prize.
